This week has been pretty good. Last P-day I got to go to Jamba Juice with my district.
Then on Monday we said goodbye to one of the districts in our zone, the district who taught us everything about the MTC. It was bitter-sweet.
For gym a couple of times the sisters in my district and I went and played on the playground behind our house, it was fun.
Last Sunday Mathew Holland came and spoke to us, he is Elder Jeffrey R Holland's son. He talked about Joseph Smith. It just so happened that it was siter Holland's birthday so Elder and Sister Holland were there and that was pretty cool. This last week my companion and I started TRC (training resource center) that's where you teach a real or fake investigator and you have non clue which one they are. It's pretty nerve racking but super spiritual. I can't believe that I leave for Mexico on the 3rd! I really don't feel prepared Spanish wise. But I can do it, because I can do hard things. It will be an adventure as everything in my life seems to be, it will be a struggle, a process, and a trial, but it will also be a joy, a blessing, and a chance for growth, and I know that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Paul

Hi Cassidi. This is Brian, I met you on new year's. I think it's amazing that you decided to take this wonderful journey in the service of our Saviour! I'd like to write you, if that is ok, but I don't have an address. If not, then that's fine too. I guess I'd just like to say that a mission can be a fantastic life forming experience, but it does come with its challenges. However, you've already "shown your quality" by undertaking this enormous task for our Heavenly Father and our Saviour. Always remember that you have a Heavenly Father, which makes you very literally "a daughter of kings" and he will not hesitate to hear or help you. Even with all its challenges, the time served in a mission seems to fly by. Take every chance you have to savor every moment with the spirit and capture every ounce of inspiration the Lord is just waiting to give you. "I wish you all the luck in the world" God be with you always :)
ReplyDeleteBrian, Sorry I didn't get back to you after New Years, life got really crazy after that. Thanks for writing me and I'm glad you enjoy my blog. I currently don't know my address as I am leaving the MTC on Monday but if you will e-mail me, I will get you my address as soon as I get it. Thanks! Provide me with your email address and I'll write you.
DeleteAwesome, my e-mail is briansylvestercal@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHey, I read your last entry. If there is anything that losing my home to financial difficulties or natural disasters has taught me, it's that paradise is what you make of it. Over the years I've learned that it's not necessarily one set place, but the whole world that is my home. Nothing in this life will be absolutely perfect, but if you can embrace this new exciting chapter of this adventure, the Lord can show you how to make a heaven out of the lowest of circumstances.
I look forward to hearing from you and learning all about Mexico!
